After the busy excursion of the previous day, at the port of Bari, TSH and Diva decided to walk around alone. They managed to work out for themselves a route which took in the main squares and streets and they also witnessed a Good Friday parade, including religious statues borne aloft, many men in black suits and a band playing sombre music. The previous week, they had seen Palm Sunday processions in Zadar. The custom in Croatia seems to be that people take greenery into the Church as an offering – a contrast with the UK, where the priests hand symbolic palms to the congregation.
TSH is looking for jellyfish, as there are a lot in the
water in this region.
Diva received a phone call during the walk. The Inland
Revenue know that she has not paid her taxes and they have obtained an
arrest warrant. Is there an extradition treaty from Italy?
